About
Crooked Christian is a reflection of myself — bits and pieces of my experiences, interests, and the culture that shaped me. It’s a love letter to fashion and my passion for creation.
What started out as something small — making clothes in my parents’ basement — has gradually grown into something I’m fully committing myself to. It’s with this sense of unwavering dedication that I approach every piece I create under the Crooked Christian name. Each garment is inherently a part of me and my life story.
There’s an energy to vintage clothing that I identify with: worn in, overlooked, and waiting for someone to give it new life and purpose. I don’t want to add more mass-produced products to the world only for them to end up in a landfill a few years later. I want to create something special — something that, when people buy it, they know carries a story, meaning, and integrity. Those same feelings are what have always drawn me toward upcycling as a designer.
I handle every step of the upcycling process myself — from embroidery and digitization to garment alterations, hand and machine stitching, and all other treatments.
I’m not a classically trained designer in any capacity. Everything I know comes from self-taught techniques — learning through research, studying the garments I collect, and analyzing their small construction details. I develop most as a designer when I’m in the studio, experimenting with my hands rather than working from a laptop or sketchbook. Over the years, I’ve worked under designers, stylists, and anyone willing to give me an opportunity to prove myself in the industry I love.
Crooked Christian is the first time I’ve shared something with the world that is truly and unapologetically ME.
